About the Designer

Jennifer Owen Selberg has been creating custom design work for the past thirty years. A native Iowan, Jennifer's college background is in textiles and clothing construction. Although she participated on the first women's track club at Iowa State University, her main claim to fame during her years as a Cyclone was being chosen to represent the state of Iowa in the Miss USA Pageant. Following her yearlong reign as Miss Iowa, Jennifer was selected Drake Relays Queen.

While a student, Jennifer married Les Selberg and founded a custom design wedding gown and Ultrasuede business. She also did professional modeling in Phoenix before beginning her family.

Jennifer was widowed on February 14, 1999 after twenty-five years of marriage. Her daughter is currently studying in Portugal and her son attends college in the Phoenix area.

The Caddie Bag Story

"It all began when a neighbor gave me two old golf bags before she moved out of state. She assumed they would end up in a garage sale, but she was wrong-they made their way into my house as vintage decor. My husband and I had designed and physically built our home, and following his death, I found myself with both the time and the therapeutic need to use to decorate the house.

A number of peculiar things have happened to me since my husband's death, one of which was an increased "sixth sense" that dramatically heightened my creative abilities. I didn't know it at the time, but those two golf bags were to become an important part of that newly heightened creativity.

I'd been looking for a vintage sport to include in my French country Victorian home, and once I'd added my own eclectic touches, those old bags were exactly what I'd been seeking!

But those two bags were just the beginning of what soon escalated into a full-fledged collection. Adding creative flower arrangements and vintage clubs and props to golf bags of every size and description became a novelty for me, and I've continued creating new bag arrangements.

Even though I long ago finished decorating, I still continue to find room for more bags in my home. Golf bags offer endless opportunities for my creative flare, and when I've finished, each one is a unique, one-of-a-kind eclectic creation!"
