Gunsmoke's "Miss Kitty" Rides Again: Amanda Blake's Biography Comes Home To Arizona!

CHANDLER, AZ (January 2012) -- "My past, present, and future, are all the same. I've never thought about being anything but an actress!" That exclamation was Amanda Blake's life long mantra which came to fruition via Miss Kitty Russell, golden hearted madam of the Long Branch Saloon on Gunsmoke, the legendary television series. Blake's passion for the screen melded with a love for the western genre and Arizona, with its history steeped in old west tradition, became her favorite residence. To honor that western heritage in its centennial year and celebrate the anniversary of Blake's Feb. 20th birth date, Beckey Burgoyne, author of Perfectly Amanda: Gunsmoke's Miss Kitty will be featured at two historic Arizona museums in February.

On Saturday, February 18, 2012, Burgoyne will be appearing at the Cave Creek Museum in Cave Creek, Ariz.. A presentation discussing Blake's vivacious life will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a reception and book signing event to follow.

On Sunday, February 19, 2012, Burgoyne will appear from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. at the Superstition Mountain Museum in Apache Junction, Ariz. The Elvis Chapel will serve as location for the presentation with a book signing event to follow.

Fans of Gunsmoke's Miss Kitty, actress Amanda Blake, and animal lovers alike will not want to miss the upcoming book events and opportunity to meet the author of Perfectly Amanda: Gunsmoke's Miss Kitty - To Dodge and Beyond. Beckey Burgoyne will be present to discuss Amanda Blake, Gunsmoke, and the three-year research project in writing the biography; a journey that led her coast to coast, literally. Burgoyne will also autograph copies of Perfectly Amanda which retail for $29.95 and will be available for purchase.

The award-winning Perfectly Amanda, now in a second printing and published by Five Star Publications, Inc. of Chandler, Arizona, chronicles Amanda Blake's life and her tenacious journey to that infamous destination - the dusty streets of Dodge City - as well as her personal life beyond the soundstage including her passionate work with animals, worldwide travel adventures, and heart wrenching struggles of life. Blake's audience will laugh, cry, and be inspired to follow their hearts. Henry Cabot Beck of True West magazine (April2011) declared that Perfectly Amanda "is about as detailed and loaded with anecdote and art as any biography has a right to be. To say Burgoyne's bio is a labor of love is an understatement."

Burgoyne, a teacher at the nationally acclaimed Northeast Elementary Magnet School in Danville, Illinois, resides with her husband Rick in Covington, Indiana. Further information and editorial reviews regarding Perfectly Amanda can be found at www.PerfectlyAmanda.com.
