TEACHERS MEET THEIR BIGGEST FAN AT TWO BORDER'S STORES
All educators receive a 25 percent discount on books purchased during event
TEMPE, AZ (Sept. 20, 2007) - Twelve-year-old Michael Moorehead values teachers so much, he dedicated his first published book, The Student From Zombie Island: Conquering the Rumor Monster, to his second-grade teacher. And now, educators can meet their biggest fan during Teachers' Appreciation events at two Valley Border's Stores.
Michael and his Rumor Monster puppets visit Border's Books & Music-Paradise Valley, 4555 E. Cactus Rd. in Phoenix, at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 and Borders Books & Music-Glendale, 7320 W. Bell Rd. in Glendale, at noon Sunday, Sept. 30. His visit coincides with Border's Teachers' Appreciation events at which all educators who show their school ID receive a 25 percent discount on autographed copies of The Student From Zombie Island and any other books they wish to purchase for themselves or their schools.
Michael's humorous, whimsically illustrated book ($15.95, hardcover, Five Star Publications) tells the story of a boy, Bust 'em Up Bill, starting at a new school and the wild rumors that circulate about him before he even sets foot in the classroom. They say his breath is so bad, it will singe your face if you get too close, and if he burps near you, it might even set your hair on fire! Everyone knows he must be a frightening, horrible, rotten monster. Could it be true? With a name like his, why wouldn't it be? Readers will find out soon!
