WAY TO BEA! FIVE STAR AUTHORS SHINE AT NYC EXPO...

CHANDLER, AZ - The bags are unpacked, but the work has just begun! After an action-packed weekend at Book Expo America in Manhattan, Five Star Publications is gearing up to follow leads, make new connections and capitalize on a successful BEA Show.

"This year was our most dynamic yet," said Linda F. Radke, president of Five Star Publications. "We made so many promising contacts, and it was exciting to see our authors in action as they signed books, networked with industry professionals and forged lasting friendships. I can't wait to see what happens next!"

Rubbing shoulders with big-names like The New York Times, Publishers Weekly, The Wall Street Journal and Kirkus Reviews, Five Star was able to draw media coverage from several radio venues, and other promotional opportunities are in the works.

"You know you're in the right career when you spend day after day meeting and greeting, movin', groovin' and networking, and all you feel is happy at day's end," said Lisa Cerasoli, author of Five Star's award-winning new title, On the Brink of Bliss and Insanity.

"Being at Book Expo America 2009 was like going to Paris in the Spring with my top ten books, an endless supply of Pino Noir, and the lover of my choice. It was simply exhilarating!"

Author Harold Theurer, Jr., who cooped with Five Star at BEA to promote his heartwarming picture book, Hey Dad! Let's Have a Catch, will be featured on the Live with Lisa radio show on Saturday, June 20, during an event he will host at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. The broadcast will air at 11:20 a.m. Eastern Time and will stream coast-to-coast from www.MileHighSports.com.

Five Star is pleased to announce that similar opportunities with several of its authors are pending.

Thomas C. Adler, author of Campingly Yours, generated quite a buzz at BEA with the announcement that his memoir is being adapted into a screenplay, and Cerasoli made noteworthy connections with organizations like Scholastic, Talent in Motion magazine and Stage Buddy.

"For me, NYC brought back memories of much work and entertainment in years past all in addition to being with new friends in the world of publishing," said Darryl E. Robidoux, author of Home After Dark. "I was proud to be part of Five Star Publications during this Book Expo journey."

Their sleeves rolled up for the work ahead, children's book author Lynnette Murray-Gibson (Clara Meets Mr. Twiddles), is excited about developing a personal relationship with Borders.com, and Mila Bernadkin (The Attitude Girl) hopes to make a mark in the world of young adult fiction as she develops relationships with librarians and booksellers across the country.

"BEA 2009 is the beginning of a new chapter at Five Star Publications," said Radke. "We're expanding, we're turning some impressive heads, and we're reaching for the stars!"
