Five Star Express Press Copper Programs
The Five Star Express Press Copper Programs are ideal for those who want to "publish for pennies," self-starters who have the ability to handle most or all aspects of the book design and/or speakers who want to increase profits by offering books that complement their presentations.
There are three Copper Plans available, all of which print books through Five Star Express Press, Five Star Publication's sister company. With the Copper Programs, the author hires and works directly with contractors and is responsible for all contractors' fees and delivers a print-ready file to Five Star Express Press. However, Five Star Express Press will make available to the author a list of quality, reasonably priced, professional contractors that can handle every aspect of producing and marketing books, should the author not have his or her own connections. Depending on which plan you choose, Five Star Express Press can also help with marketing and book distribution.
Copper Penny Plan: $995** (great for speakers, teachers, seniors and those with their own connections)
- Author retains all rights to book's manuscript.
- Five Star Express Press provides instructions for obtaining copyright, barcode,
- ISBN and a list of production steps the author needs to take to design the book.
- Includes 25 free books, after which each book costs author $4.52 for books up to 108 pages and $5.90 for books between 109-200 pages and additional books must be ordered in increments of 100 or more. Books will be softbound with a four-color cover and black interior.
- Author provides print-ready PDF of manuscript per specs and guidelines given to author by Five Star Express Press.
- Author is responsible for all aspects of print-ready manuscript including cover design, layout, editing, typesetting, etc.
- Author handles all marketing and PR.
- Author handles all sales and retains all profits on books sold.
Copper Plus Plan: $3,000**, includes everything in the Copper Penny Plan plus:
- Author receives 100 free books.
- A free copy of The Economical Guide to Self-Publishing.
- Five Star Express Press sets up distribution channels for book through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Amazon.com, Walmart.com and Target.com.
- Author retains any profit over $4.52 for books up to 108 pages and $5.90 for books between 109-200 pages when sold through a Five Star Express Press distribution channel, and all profits when sold directly by author.
- Author receives a 10 percent discount on book listing at AuthorsAndExperts.com and SchoolBookings.com.
- Five Star Express Press will send out a one-time emailed news release to media outlets in one state of author's choice with author as contact. Additional states can be purchased for $95 per state
Copper Elite Plan: $4,900** Includes everything in the Copper Plus Plan plus:
- Author receives a 25 percent discount on book listing on AuthorsAndExperts.com and SchoolBookings.com.
- A free copy of Promote Like a Pro: Small Budget, Big Show
- Five Star Express Press produces a media kit consisting of one news release, one fact sheet, one author bio, one interview question sheet and one sound bite sheet with author as contact, and pitches it to national media outlets.
- Five Star Express Press develops and hosts a website when author commits to six months of hosting at $14.95 per month. Author may choose to opt out of this.
- Five Star Express Press develops and hosts a blogsite when author commits to six months of hosting at $14.95 per month. Author may choose to opt out of this.
** All prices are subject to change. In addition, Five Star Express Press is happy to add professional consulting to any of these plans for a billable discounted fee of $150 per hour. During the process of any Copper Plan, author may choose to upgrade to a higher level of plan by paying the difference.
