News Release
Promising 7 year-old chef writes his first cookbook
Where else could you learn how to make Crunchie Bugs & Cheese?
Max Nania has been creating new recipes for more than half his life. "Mom says I started before I was three years old. I made up some funny and different snacks," explains Max. From the outset, his mother, Sienna Nania, encouraged her budding young chef. "The only agreement we had," she says, "was that he could invent if he would help clean up afterward." Max recently decided to put all his favorite recipes into a cookbook.
Cooking with Max: 45 Really Fun and Kind of Messy Recipes Kids Can Make, published by Little Five Star, is scheduled for release in 2007. In addition to Crunchie Bugs & Cheese, young cooks will learn how to make an Inside Out Ice Cream Sandwich, Disappearing Veggies, Tarzan Wraps, Pirate Pasta, and much more. Every recipe is kid-tested and kid-tasted, says Max.
Sienna, mother of two and daughter of school teachers, provides tips for Moms' for each recipe to keep the cooking process safe and to help turn the kitchen into a fun classroom. "Max and his brother learned their colors, shapes and how to count-all in the kitchen," she says. Sienna provides creative ideas on how to maximize the learning opportunities while the kids are making these fun and tasty dishes.
Max Nania is a Cub Scout who likes video games, comics, chapter books, soccer, and the Atlanta Braves. Who better to know what recipes would appeal to other kids?
