Purple Dragonfly Book Awards
Book Contest for Children's Books | The Purple Dragonfly Book Awards honor published authors of children's literature – fiction and nonfiction – with 37 distinct subject categories, ranging from books on the environment and cooking to books on sports and family. A Purple Dragonfly seal on your book's cover tells parents they're giving their children the very best in reading excellence. Books entered in this contest can appeal to children of any age. With 25-plus years of publishing expertise under its belt, it was high time Five Star Publications offered its own book awards contest, and in 2009 the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards was established. Since the number of children's book authors is so great, it seemed a logical place to start. However, since launching the Purple Dragonfly Book Awards, Five Star Publications was inundated with requests for book contests that recognized other book genres. As a result, we added the Royal Dragonfly Book Awards and later the eBook section of the Royal Dragonfly Book Awards. Both the Royal and Purple Dragonfly contests bestows the grand prize book contest winner $300, and put all first-place book contest winners in a drawing for a $100 prize.
Our judges are industry experts, with specific knowledge about the particular categories over which they preside.
