Tim Lasiuta’s detailed account of Tom Gill’s adventures was something of a revelation to me. I imagine most people are not aware that, among so much else, a group of artists had focused their efforts to entertain our troops in a way that would rival Bob Hope. Their story, told first hand through the eyes of Gill, is extraordinary. Lasiuta, shows a deft hand and his obvious love of the subject matter in putting Gill’s recollections into words.
